Quick trip (3 nights) to Xi'An to see the terracotta warriors.
Biangbiang noodles: Arrived late but hungry so went to a local market for some Xi'an famous biangbiang noodles, they were good! Nina's homemade version here were better though.
Terracotta warriors: Very cool day trip, we went on the weekend so was absolutely heaving and most Chinese tourists don't have the same concept of queuing but still totally worth it! For dinner we had dapanji (big plate chicken) ordered to our hostel, one of our favourite meals from London and it didn't disappoint!
Morning market: Nina woke up at 6am to go to a well known morning market. I had a lie in but enjoyed the food haul brought back, except the tofu brains which I'm glad got finished in the market.
Muslim quarter: We stayed right by the muslim quarter which has lots of street food and the oldest mosque in Xi'An, it was tipping it down so we didn't stay out for long but it was a nice afternoon walking round. Our hostel was pretty sociable again so spent a fair amount of time chilling there too / playing games.
Most of the food places near us were outside seating only and given it was raining we ended up going to quite a fancy restaurant in a hotel nearby - we had more Xi'An food that Nina wanted to try (liangpi noodles).
