Short and sweet 🍬
Arrived in Tsim Sha Tsui (south Kowloon) in the evening and went straight out for a bowl of wonton noodles and some beers. The wontons were so juicy - a great first meal.
Dim Sum: Started the day with brunch at One Dim Sum in Sham Shui Po - we ordered so many dishes but persevered and made it through everything except the chicken feet 🦶. It was delicious which helped.
Markets: To walk off the dim sum we visited a couple of markets, one in Sham Shui Po and the other in Mong Kok where I (Nina) had my first haggling experience but still overpaid 🥲.
Museum of Art: This was interesting but also quite dry except for the light and sound installations on the top floor.
Harbour view: Watched the boats go by Hong Kong harbour - really beautiful at night.
Garden Hill views: After grabbing some food at Temple night market we went back to Sham Shui Po and climbed a lot of stairs to see the Kowloon skyline - it was crazy seeing the lights go on for miles.
Victoria Peak: Hong Kong style pastries for brekky - pineapple bun with a slab of butter & egg tart. Got the peak tram up to Victoria peak & sky terrace for views of all of Hong Kong city.
Monster flats: Dense high rise flats - very instagrammable, though we missed the sign that said no photos on our way out 🤓 & cheung fun snack.
Roast goose dinner - Didn’t fancy the >1hour queue for Kam’s goose so headed to Chukfo Taipan round the corner for half the price, was so good 😋
Soho & Lan Kwai Fong: For drinks & night out - met some locals, sang some karaoke, and ate some really good late night Indian food! Was good fun.
Kunming bound: Motherland China did not hold back on security, took us ages to get through the station but luckily we got there early for our 8 hour train! Nina was on the ropes 😂
